

This 20 Second Garlic Peeling Trick is Better Than Any Other Method
Peeling garlic isn’t difficult, however, it can be notably demanding and time taking. The paper skin appears to stick to a few cloves extra than others (and then to the whole thing else it comes close to). There are tricks for peeling garlic in bulk (which include the 2-bowl trick or in a Mason jar), but my personal favoured technique takes 20 seconds, doesn’t get any bowls or cups dirty, and makes peeling garlic actually clean.
The trick? A quick burst of microwave heat. When I at first found out this tip, I turned into simply every other reader.
How to Peel a Head of Garlic with Your Microwave
Our original tip for peeling garlic simply cautioned popping it into the microwave for 20 seconds. Having now prepped at least a dozen heads this manner, I endorse you trim the pinnacle off the bulb (kitchen shears are super for this) and lightly do away with any really free pores and skin from around the bulb first. Then microwave the entire bulb for 20 seconds — I try this on a small plate to make eliminating the headless difficult. Let the complete garlic head cool for about 15 seconds and then peel.
Why This Works?
The garlic steams only a tiny bit in the microwave, supporting the cloves to slide without problems from their paper. And because you aren’t bruising the garlic via shaking it in bowls or pressing it with a knife, there’s no sticky juice or tiny particles of garlic pores and skin sticking to the cloves, your hands, or the reducing board.
